In Austin, selective enforcement is practiced against blacks. There is that current lawsuit where a group of people walked across the street and the police (APD) only picked out the blacks. This has happened to me many times in Austin in different situations. Then, to get charges dropped involves going to court and missing work. Then, you don't have a job anymore because you missed work so much.

When you state the city is segregated some city officials correct you to falsely claim it is economic segregation. When we are starbuck'd if we are out of East Austin (where blacks belong) that is segregation. My bank just sent me May 2018 an email telling me to schedule a meeting at my home branch-East Austin. Problem is I don't live in East Austin. I live in far north Austin and there is a branch in walking distance. They know where i live because they sent me my ATM card and other mail, but my "Home' branch is 15 miles away in East Austin. If that is not segregation I do not know what is.

At the next city council meeting, the council is set to pass resolution to switch to giving blacks citations instead of arrest as a better option. It acts as if the high number of arrests are all our faults. It does not take into account living while black in a segregated city.
Does not take into account being 'starbuck'd.' Why is this narrative allowed to move forward?

Another item on the agenda extends privacy, due process and equal protection to undocumented immigrants. I would like some of that.
If APD followed constitution than less arrests of blacks in this city.
