City of Austin’s affordable housing initiative fizzles out

An Austin City Council affordable housing initiative fizzled out early June 19 as the Council voted to adopt a PUD ordnance supported by the developer lobby and opposed by city boards, city commissions, and housing advocates. The ordinance will contribute little to solving Austin’s affordable housing crisis. Read more here to understand how East Austin was apprehended.

Hi,
The City of Austin's Affordable Housing is a scam. I purchased an Affordable Housing unit - with a conventional loan and the City devalued the market value by at least 1/3rd to a 1/2 of any other property in the complex.

The City of Austin ripped me off. I asked to resolve the valuation issues and have been attacked by my community to the point that I tried to commit suicide.

I have never been treated so badly in all my life. This was supposed to be a stepping for me, not a coffin.
