Means walked on to Texas’ track and field team in 1963 and made history by becoming not just the first African American student-athlete at Texas, but the first in the entirety of the Southwest Conference. As Black History Month commences, it is important that we continue to give recognition and honor to those who've changed the game - for more than their athletic accoldades. Read more about Means here.
